Grants of £500 were awarded to the Springelm Activity Club and the Friends of Knowsley Woodlands Group. In addition, £600 was granted to the Community Disco group of Stockbridge Village.<br /><br />Councillor Billy Kearney, Vice Chairman of the Council said:<br /><br />"The Parish Council has always supported local organisations benefiting residents within the parish. The Council sees this as one of the most effective ways in which it can help all sections of the community. With our existing polices on concessionary use, the Parish Council is helping a large number of local groups provide worthwhile activities for local people of all ages."<br /><br />Last year the Parish Council granted £13,700 to local groups. Since April of this year, the Council has granted almost £10,000 to groups involved in activities such as sport, play, youth provision, health and the environment.
